For summer days, you have got to have summer scents. Not only does lighting a summery candle indoors fill your home with the refreshing scent of sunnier days, but they can provide the perfect lighting for entertaining outdoors too! After all, what’s better than sitting around a table with friends, post barbecue, in the warm glow of your favourite candle?

After two years in the making I am beyond excited to share with you that we have created Sharland England’s very own collection of scented candles and they are now available to order! Let me introduce to you our first three scents...

Orange blossom

If you ask me what summer smells like, this is it. I have always adored the smell of orange blossom and find that it never fails to evoke a sense of serenity in me. It is light and summery and reminds me of some of the simplest pleasures in life. When I light up this candle, it’s as if I can feel the fresh breeze of a summer morning, see rays of sunlight pouring through my window or taste the sweetness of a warm buttery croissant with strawberry jam eaten on the patio. I paired the delicate scent of orange blossom with floral notes of jasmine and some hints of vetiver and cardamom to add some depth and warmth to the scent.

Pomegranate and Patchouli

When I’m feeling in the mood for a more sophisticated fragrance, I reach for the Pomegranate and Patchouli candle. They’re quite unusual scents but together create a deliciously unique fragrance - definitely one for the evening. I’m transported straight to  New York City, soft jazz in the background, confidence, laughter, a slip dress and that first drink at the bar. The tart sweetness of pomegranate blends perfectly with the woody tones of patchouli and cedarwood, while the subtle spiciness of pink peppercorn and floral tones of lily add that perfect touch of freshness.

Rose & Oud

The most romantic scent- I simply adore the romantic combination of rose and oud. This candle was a total  labour of love to find the right balance between the floral notes of rose and the much richer scent of oud. Whenever I light it, it takes me on a journey to the French countryside. The comforting smell of sandalwood and musk provide a depth that is cut by the refreshing brightness of neroli. It smells like a loving look from across a room, long walks through windswept meadows and warm evening drives against the setting sun.
