The easiest, most most fragrant DIY Christmas decoration: pomander oranges. I make them every year, they bring back so many happy memories of past Christmas holidays spent with family.

I usually place them on a bowl at the entrance so that, as soon you come in the door, you are immersed in the cosiest wintery aroma. But they look lovely on the tree too - and make quite the original bauble!

Here’s how I make them: I like to pierce the orange with a toothpick or a skewer first, (never deeper than the clove itself) so it’s easier to stick the cloves in. Then, I create different patterns for each orange - the more diverse the better. Finally, to make them look more festive, I wrap them in pretty ribbons.
