It’s a time to switch off and unplug; the limbo few days between Christmas and New Year when time stands still and emails - for once - grind to a halt.
Here are our favourite 5 ways to spend it:
1. Packing hot chocolate...
...(or Ovaltine, Louise’s favourite!) in a flask and taking a long, brisk walk through the woods with the family.

2. Eating leftovers by the fire...
... Turkey curry, a glass of red and homemade Christmas cake with extra marzipan is top of the list… consumed at any time of day you fancy it!

3. Finally cracking open that book that’s been waiting patiently on the bedside table all year...
... We recommend Dickens and Prince: A Particular Kind of Genius.

4. Be a tourist in your town...
...there are so many cultural things to visit that stay open during the holidays, many of which kids love too. We love touring a historic stately home for inspo!

5. There’s nothing more lovely than putting on an old(ish) movie during the day.
When else do you do that? We love: Meet Me in St Louis, the original Miracle on 34th Street, Gosford Park, Carol, and The Bishop’s Wife.
