While the Cotswolds is known for its postcard-perfect villages, there are also plenty of hidden gems waiting to be discovered. Make a day of it! Here’s our guide to the dreamiest day out in the Cotswolds…

Stay: The Bull Inn

This charming pub hotel has 8 cosy rooms all designed by Willow Crossley. Enjoy the hearty cottage pie and bottle of red by the roaring log fire, before snuggling into bed upstairs.

Wander around: Blenheim Palace

Pick your jaw up off the floor as you wander the utterly delightful grounds and rooms of Blenheim Palace. The palace is where Winston Churchill grew up, and honestly, one of the most ornate, impressive stately homes in the country.

Lunch: Daylesford Organic

Cakes, coffee and all sorts of delicious homemade food: Daylesford Organic is just a beautiful farmhouse setting for lunch. Sit by the firepit outside if it’s sunny, and my tip? The quiche followed by a slice of cherry bakewell!

Dessert: Alfonso Gelateria

Alex Gore Browne says this is the best gelato outside of Italy! My personal favourite flavour, is tiramisu.

Books & Gifts: Jaffe & Neale

It’s that beautiful Autumnal time of year when watching Meg Ryan movies and browsing bookshops is about as delightful as an afternoon can get. Add (another?) slice of homemade cake from the in-store cafe, fill your boots with novels old and new, and you’re about ready to head home…
